Friday, Florida governor Rick Scott signed a law into effect raising the age to buy a gun from 18 to 21. The NRA immediately announced a lawsuit and is suing to protect the constitutional rights of those between the age of 18-21 who would be denied their right to buy a gun under this new law. Florida attorney general Pam Bondi is named as the defendant in the suit that says the law violates the 2nd and 14th amendments. They argue that people who are 18 are considered adults “for almost all purposes and certainly for the purposes of the exercise of fundamental constitutional rights.” In Michigan, an 18 year old is suing Dicks for refusing to sell him a gun as well.
Meanwhile, the ACLU (which is supposed to be an organization that defends the rights of American citizens) is too busy suing ICE on behalf of illegal immigrants. An online search of ACLU sues ICE will pull up several recent stories.
