The immigration policies of the United States under President Trump are called racist, intolerant and xenophobic. On the other hand, Canada under Justin Trudeau is supposed to be a bastion of tolerance and acceptance. But after an influx of Haitian asylum seekers crossed into Canada last summer and a large number of Nigerian asylum seekers enter this year, Canada wants to put a halt to asylum seekers by asking the U.S. to enact stricter screening for people applying for visitor visas, specifically those coming from Nigeria.. What has brought on this sudden bout of intolerance, racism and xenophobia from our neighbors up north? And why isn`t it addressed in the article here
